Bent but not broken,
worse for wear, though no longer frozen
Outer wall has melted, skin bared to all things;
breaching through.
Poise lapsed into obeisance, can’t stand straight.
Better off if broken!
Repeat words unspoken,
worse for wear, before your words are chosen.
Weight may be lifted off your shoulders, but the effects
do not rescind.
Poise surrendered to obeisance, we’re left distraught.
Bent worse than broken!
“And it seems not to break, though having been bent
so low for long, that they never right themselves” *
It can never be made right again!
It will never be right again!
The effects, they do not rescind.
No longer proud, nor secure in this skin.
Forever left concealing blemishes.
Living with past mistakes on the sleeve
an added dimension to me.
Asterisk by my name: filed failings.
Bent but not broken, worse for wear,
better off if broken!
